Secondary Maturation
& Co-Releases

The Offering

Your spirit.
A new expression built with VI SIX.

VI SIX works with distilleries to develop new expressions from spirits they have already produced, including conventionally aged inventory.

We apply Inverse Barreling as a controlled secondary maturation step, beginning with pilot and comparison batches before moving into commercial production.

Both the distillery's production role and VI SIX's technology remain visible in the finished product and how it is presented.

How It Works

From existing spirit to a new expression.

01

Select the Spirit

We begin with a spirit or aging inventory the distillery has already produced.

02

Pilot the Process

VI SIX applies Inverse Barreling through controlled pilot and comparison batches.

03

Compare and Refine

The results are reviewed and the process is refined around the intended expression.

04

Scale or Launch a Co-Release

A successful pilot can move into contract production or a jointly branded commercial release.

Commercial Proof

The Elora co-releases.

VI SIX and Elora Distilling Co. first released a limited-edition Premium Spiced Rum in 2024. In 2025, Elora applied VI SIX secondary maturation to its three-year Royal Amber Whisky to create Cherrywood and Maplewood expressions.

All three co-released products sold out, demonstrating how a distillery's existing production and VI SIX technology can become a distinct commercial expression.
